Conference Note

With the completion of six new WWTPs (2015-2018), the total treatment capacity will reach approximately 573 000 P.E. or around 27 % of the required capacity in the country. Within Sector Operational Programme for Environment and Climate (2014-2020), are proposed to be constructed at least two other WWTPs which means the treatment capacity in the country would raise for 210.000 P.E. bringing the total capacity to approximately 784.000 P.E. or around 37.3% of the total required capacity.

The Challenge is then to secure operational stability of the WWTPs not only from technical but also from financial point of view.

Going towards this goal by active exchange between all the shareholders such as public utilities, governmental institutions and universities is the aim of the Conference.

Aims

Coordinates and stimulates the monitoring of the modern development of science and practice in the field of water treatment and provides timely information to its members
Encourages and strengthens the exchange of professional, engineering, scientific and technical ideas, as well as the transfer of scientific-research, development, project knowledge and information between scientific research organizations, design offices, governmental institutions, public utilities and equipment producers in the field of water treatment

Competence

It works on the transfer of knowledge, scientific and technical information and technologies in the country and towards other countries by organizing and encouraging various forms of professional meetings and presentations, seminars and workshops
Initiate, encourage and promote research and other forms of innovative work in the field of water treatment
It encourages and supports the initiatives of its members for scientific research work, as well as the application of scientific-research results in the field of water treatment

Collaboration

Cooperates with the competent institutions on issues of interest for water treatment in the Republic of Macedonia
Collaborates with appropriate international and domestic associations for the purpose of exchange of information, publications and expert lectures
Cooperation with the competent state bodies for drafting and reviewing technical guidelines, norms, standards and technical regulations in the field of water treatment and related technical areas

Organisation

Organizes cooperation with all institutions, dealing with issues of interest for water treatment
Organizes professional excursions at home and abroad for its members
Organizes and publishes scientific and expert publications for the needs of its members
Coordinates, directs and stimulates the work of the Sections of the association

Improvement

Takes care of the professional development and renewal of the knowledge of the members
Provides expert opinions on elaborates, analyzes and development plans of interest in the water treatment

Engineering Ethics

It cultivates and develops the engineering ethics in the field of water treatment and takes care of keeping, protecting and raising the public and professional reputation of the members of the association
